Aakash may be the cheapest tablet around but it isn’t worth even the small amount you will spend on it. Personally I say a big NO to Aakash tablet. Here comes the Aakash tablet competitor which is little expensive compared to Aakash tablet but it looks promising. This new tablets has been manufactured by Noida based company Pantel and has been launched by BSNL.
Out of three models launched by BSNL, two are 7 inches resistance models and one includes 8 inches capacitive touch model. The cheapest model is Panta Tpad IS 701R which comes for Rs 3,250 compared to Aakash’s Rs 2,500 price. If we compare Panta Tpad IS 701R with Aakash’s Ubislate 7 the former has much better specifications.
Panta Tpad is a WiFi only model which runs on Android 2.3 operating system, it has a 1 GHz processor supported with 256 MB RAM. The tablet also offers HDMI port through which it can be connected other output devices like TV. Its 7 inch resistive touch screen comes with 800×600 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. To power up it has 3000 mAh battery and 2 GB internal memory which is expandable using a SD card slot. Now this would be something which will amaze you, this model also has a VGA front camera for video calling. So isn’t it a good and much better Aakash alternative?
The second tablet in the line up is Panta Tpad WS704C. This model has almost the same configuration like Panta Tpad IS701R apart that it provides 3G connectivity, inbuilt accelerometer, bluetooth, 512 RAM and a 2 MP rear camera. It has been priced at Rs 10,999.
The last one is the most superior one of rest two. It’s Panta Tpad WS802C with 8 inches capacitive touch screen. Its internal memory is 4GB which is expandable. It has better 1.2 GHz processor and with 512 MB RAM. Other features are 3G connectivity, inbuilt accelerometer, bluetooth and 2 MP camera. It has been priced at Rs 13,500.
